The man looks at you with a smile. You're the one that arrived here yesterday with that dragon head arn't ya?" He begins to laugh a very hearty laugh. "That was brilliant best thing I've ever seen in this town. Tell you what if you want the lyre how about 11,000 gold?"

Elliott shakes the man's hand. "Sounds good to me. My friend here will take it."

He counts 11,000 gold worth of coins and pays the music man. He leaves the music shop and goes to the builder to get his money back and break the contract.

Layla takes the lead as you walk into the building mans building. He looks up at her but before he can make words he grabs his head as if he had a massive headache then he falls asleep at his desk. Layla takes out the contract he has and rips it in half before setting both halves on fire and teleporting them away. "There now, that should take care of that. Shall we go?"

Elliott looks at her with a small amount of surprise. "Wow... Um, I gave him about 265,000 gold. Getting that back would be nice. Plus you probably need the blueprint in order to build it with your lyre." Elliott searches about for the blueprint and the money he gave the man.

You find a small vault under his desk containing a countless amount of gold. And a small notebook that has several different blueprints laid out inside it.

Elliott looks through the notebook to find how much he paid for his contract. Then he gets an idea. He looks at Layla with a wicked smile. "Layla, if we were to accidentally take all this money, could you teleport the empty vault into a rival guild's hall to make it look like they stole it?"

Layla looks down at the massive amount of money sitting in the chest. "Well I suppose that's better then sitting here and counting out all the money."
Carly gets a nervous look on her face. "I'm not sure if that's the best idea. I understand that we need to have the best guild. But is all this really necessary?" Layla looks at the chief still asleep on his desk. "Well this guy is going to wake up any minute. So we need to make a decision now."
"I don't mean to cause problems but I think we're crossing a line. This could be all the money this company has, are we really going to bankrupt them and frame another innocent guild?"
"It doesn't matter to me, but we can't count out the correct amount of money in the time we have, we need a decision now!" Both girls turn and look at you.

Elliott thinks for a moment. It was business after all. He already had money. He needed a legacy. Construction company goes bankrupt, workers are forced into the arena to pay debts: large flux of potential mercs for Elliott. Rival guild goes down: more unemployed mercs and contracts for Elliott. He had an opportunity, and he had to take it. "We need the original money back to set up the live combat training area. We're doing this, but NEVER again. Layla take it all to your plane. We can count it out and then make a generous donation to help get the company back on its feet after this is over." It would have been so much easier if Layla had let them talk to the guy and not knock him completely unconscious. He had never done this before, and it wasn't a new experience that he enjoyed. Time was pressing on Elliott, and he knew he didn't have time to think it through. He holds his hand out to Layla. "If anyone saw us come in here, they need to forget us fast. Let's go."

Carly nods her head in agreeance with the plan though hesitant. Layla puts one hand on the chest and the other hand into Elliott's. Carly grabs Elliott's hand and everyone appears back on Layla's plane in the courtyard. Once there Layla sits down and asks one of her unseen servants to bring her some tea. "Well that's solved, what's next?"

Elliott starts counting the money. "Tea for me too, please. We find out how much money is here, then we figure out what to do with it. Carly's right, we did cross a line, but we can't let this opportunity go. If we use it right, that company doesn't have to go under."

Layla stretches her arms and leans back. Who's to say if they'll actually go under anyway, who keeps all of their company's money under their desk? Carly looks nervous as slightly angry at Layla as she talks. "Maybe you're right, but even so we took quite a lot from them." She watches you count the money from the chest. It's full of platinum and Electurum coins. The unseen servents come back with freshly brewed tea and pour a cup from all three of you even though Carly never asked for any. (because they're nice like that) Once you finish counting you come to a grand total of 620k gold worth of coins in the chest.

That was the most gold Elliott had ever possessed at once. "Okay, so there's no way this is the whole company's savings. This is maybe 2 or 3 jobs worth of money. Still, some of it should go back. Layla can still build the hall, but the summoning stones, portal, and other magic items still need to be bought. We can overpay the building company for those items because they must have contacts for that sort of thing. Feel better about that, Carly? We can do that tomorrow. I'm going to bed. Goodnight you two." Elliott finishes his tea and goes to sleep in a guest bedroom.

(she went through an alignment change during her time on yesgard, she doesn't mind killing, but thievery, and other moral dilemma's can set her off)

Carly feel at ease that you hadn't taken all the gold and that some of it at least would be given back. "Alright, goodnight Elliott." She waves her hand. Carly nods her head. "Goodnight." They continue talking for awhile after you go to bed. The next morning the servants have breakfast prepared. Including eggs, biscuits, gravy, bacon, and hash browns (not sure if hash browns were a thing) Carly greets you as you come into the dining hall. "Good morning Elliott, what's the plan for today then?""

(I'm pretty sure like none of the breakfast foods we say were a thing, but then again how did Bilbo have matches to light his pipe in the Hobbit while the dwarves had to light fires with flint and steel?)

Elliott greets Carly with a smile. "Well, we contract the building company for magic items, we fight in the arena a little bit, and I imagine that Layla will use that new instrument of hers to do some work on the guild hall." Elliott eats his breakfast quickly and holds out his hand to Layla when she looks ready to go.

Layla takes everyone back to Suzail, On arrival Carly heads off toward the arena. "I'm not so good with diplomacy works, so I'll just let you two take care of that." Layla gestures for you to lead the way.

Elliott lets Carly go kill things. He walks up to the construction building and approaches the foreman hoping that Layla wipes any minds that might recognize them. "Hey there. I'm looking to furnish a building with a large amount of magic items. Could you help me with getting my hands on those?"

(just so you know, Layla has a constant read minds, so if someone thinks about you. She can wipe their mind)

The man gestures for you to follow him, he leads you up some stairs into a private looking room that is furnished very nicely. "So you say you need magic items, I assume you have the money to pay for them." He sits and leans back in a large chair with his fingers together and big smile on his face. He's also very fat.

Elliott smiles. "I'm looking to start a business, and that always requires a fair amount of startup capitol. I have a list of things I need. I'm willing to pay very well for somebody I can count on." Elliott discusses the items he wants. And, after discussing prices, offers the man 550,000 gold for the items to be delivered and the portals constructed as soon as possible.

(I modified a few things because of Layla's lyre, different summoning stones, and wanting to add a one-way portal with another decanter of endless water to wash the chamber pots into the first ring of Baator. The new total cost is 458,600)

The man keeps his big smile after hearing the price. Layla begins sending you telepathic messages of his thoughts. "He think's that you're either an idiot,or a very kind man. And your swords are to big for him to call you and idiot." The man sits for a few seconds and seems to be thinking before he responds to your offer. "Yes, I will take that offer, we will make your job first priority and you will have the finest materials that is my guarantee." he keeps his big smile but it almost seems more nervous then happy.

"I don't think kindness is stealing 400,000 gold and giving back 100,000 of it, but what he doesn't know won't kill him." Elliott shakes the man's hand and signs a new contract. "I hope if I need anything else, I can count on you to see it done. I'll give you 300,000 now and 250,000 when the job's done. I expect the highest quality work on these." Elliott gives him the gold and departs for the arena.

(Since they stayed on Layla's plane, is it 2 days later now on the physical plane? Also, this is the guy we stole from, right?)

(I adjusted the numbers for not doing the portal to Baator. The portal needs to be activated anyway, and poop isn't sentient. 100,000 is what I owe him now.)

(yeah, same guy. And Layla's plane slows time so every 3 hours is 1 hour. But she can change that as she wishes. However I think I might start making a calendar)

You make your way to the arena. Everyone there welcomes you back. Other trained gladiators give you some strange glances and you hear Layla's voice in your head. "Your rank has apparently went up. You're going to have to fight some of the, what they call professionals. And it seems they don't want to fight you." Carly walks over and joins you her axe is now dripping with blood. "The guys I'm fighting today are rather determined. I'll die before I give up, he said. So that's what happened."

"I wouldn't want to fight me either if I was them." Elliott keeps a serious face when addressed by Carly. "It would have been rude to not give him what he asked for, Carly. You did the right thing." Elliott signs up for a match and starts reading the other dragon book.

Carly gets called in for another match before you do. She comes out later then she usually does. "Not bad, they still don't have a chance but at least they're trying now." The announcer calls for Elliott and someone by the name of Big boar to come to the arena. You see a large man (still medium sized) stand up and start walking out to the arena carrying a large morning star. You also hear him boast on his way. "Elliott! That's the new rookie right? This should be fun!" He gives a big laugh as he disappears through the arena gates.

After Big Boar walks out, Elliott gives him a few seconds to enter the arena and then remarks, "Big Boar? That's the brute without a brain, right? This should be easy." Elliott chuckles, puts his book away, and follows him into the arena with one sword drawn.
