Elliott in Hilp
Elliott excitedly departs from Marsember toward Hilp. He lands outside the city and asks the guards where he can legally post fliers.

Re: Elliott in Hilp
(note to self: write city description for Hilp)
The guards tell you that most people just put them up on the wall of the courthouse. Technically it's supposed to be illegal but that's not their job.
If you decide to post up fliers there two men wearing half plate armour and wielding scimitars will approach you and ask you what you're doing.

Elliott doesn't break the law in the open. He goes about looking for places to put them, town criers, or bards to spread the word.

You find a few places to hang up fliers that look open enough for people to see but not open enough to get caught by guards. Most of the bards and town criers in the town refuse your request however and will not spread word of a new mercenary company, after awhile two men wearing half plate armour and wielding scimitars approach you. "So we hear that you're recruiting for a new guild. Well the black dogs are the only mercenary company allowed to work around here so you can take your recruitment elsewhere, horeson."
Re: Elliott in Hilp
Elliott holds out a flyer to them. "Gentlemen, I see you brought your business demeanor. Tell you what. Take this and put it on the door to your guild here in Hilp. Otherwise, sheathe your tongues and draw your blades." He smirks smugly and keeps his hand extended with the flyer doing a quick glance around for guards.

The men hold up their scimitars in defensive positions. You see that all the guards in the area look in your position then turn their heads and walk away. "Don't mess with us man, we're members of the Black dogs. Do you know what we'll do to you?!"
(normally I think they would roll intimidate but I don't think Elliott would give a crap about their threats)

(I didn't realize they were drawn. Generally in all big cities, drawn weapons are illegal. Not like these guys are bound by that law apparently.)
(Elliott could still be intimidated, he just wouldn't show it. He's not immune to fear, he's just prideful and arrogant.)
Elliott puts his spare fliers in his pocket and draws one sword while holding the original flyer in his off hand. "And I am Elliott the Undying. Champion of the realm of Semphar. Battle tried of Bartholomew, and seasoned veteran of Ysgard. Grandmaster Warblade of the Iron Heart and Diamond Mind disciplines and the Lightning Bastard Swords fighting style. I've spent over two and a half thousand years training my body and mind to kill mangy, flea-ridden, rabid black dogs like you. I am minding my own business, I would advise you to quit your messing. Now take the damned flyer or I'll stuff it down your severed throat."
Heavy armor, but fast accurate weapons. They stood defensively, so they'd survived fights like this before. They were threatening broad threats, so they had something to prove. Perhaps a bit insecure underneath that armor.

Re: Elliott in Hilp
The two men grit their teeth and hold tightly to their scimitars they stare at you for a few seconds before one of them finally screams and slashes at you. As he strikes at you, you parry his attack back into his friend and the recoil from the parry leaves him disarmed and knocks him prone, the man that got stabbed begins to run the man that was knocked prone also gets up and begins to run.

Re: Elliott in Hilp
Elliott kicks him in the back of the leg trying to keep him  on the ground. If he keeps him down, he stuffs the flier down the front of his armor. "Run on home, little dog."

Re: Elliott in Hilp
You successfully shove the flier down his armour and he runs off after the other guy. Several people see the spectacle but don't do anything about it. They just continue on with their own business.

Re: Elliott in Hilp
(Yep, rolled up and pocketed.)
Elliott continues posting fliers until he runs out of places. He checks a few of his earlier spots to make sure the fliers were still there. If they aren't, he reposts them. He gets back on the carpet to fly to Suzail and might notice that someone's missing.

Re: Elliott in Hilp
As you get back on the Carpet you remember that a particularly blood crazed elf is missing from your journey. But you have trouble remembering the exact time or spot that she jumped off at.
(I think it's fair to say it's been about 5-6 hours since she jumped off. putting the time around 2:00 in the afternoon now)

Re: Elliott in Hilp
Elliott flies around looking for Carly. If the Black Dog didn't pick up his scimitar before running away, Elliott sticks it into the ceiling of the tallest tower in the city.

Re: Elliott in Hilp
After a couple hours of flying you spot carly sitting on a hydra in a clearing of knocked down trees. When she see's you flying over head she waves for you to come down. When you get down to her she stands up. "Hey, so you wanted a trophy but this thing ate the trophy I had so is there anyway to take this as a trophy?" A closer examination shows that the hydra has twelve heads is huge being around 19 feet in length and weighing easily over 4,000 pounds.
Re: Elliott in Hilp
Elliott ponders for a bit looking at the heads. "Good job. Maybe if we cut off the heads, we could arrange them on a wall to make it obvious that they'd come from the same creature. What was the first trophy?" He gets to work cutting heads, and when he's done he loads them onto the carpet and lets Carly try to fly it. "You remember that guy who did the dragon head? Go to him." If it doesn't work, he unloads them until the carpet can fly and lets Carly take off while he carries the rest back to the city. If it's a heavy load (450+ lbs), he'll set up the fortress and run forms while she takes multiple trips.

Re: Elliott in Hilp
"It was an owlbear, I thought it looked cool." She fly's the carpet back and forth between the man that did the dragon head, it takes a few hours but the man dows the work for free in exchange for Carly talking to him while he works. After everything is done Carly comes to talk to you. "So how'd the recruitment go?"
