The man takes a few hits but continues to attack with a full attack of his own. But he messes up on his first attack and loses his grip on the rapier and ends up throwing it into the wall behind you.

(If it was a free, swift, or immediate action I might house rule a DC 15 or so reflex save or something to be caught flat footed. By the books though, there's no reason that teleporting behind someone should catch them off guard.)

As disappointing as it was you heard a thud in front of you as he falls to the ground and slowly becomes visible again. Teh audience cheers louder then they ever have before. "He did it! The rookie Elliott has defeated the nicknamed most annoying man in the arena!" People stand up clapping for you and shouting taunts at the man that lay unconscious on the ground.

Elliott tosses the rapier to the ground, sheathes his bastard sword, hoists the man's body over his head, and shouts for the audience's approval. After soaking in his glorious triumph, he carries the man's body out of the arena. Once he's out of view of the public, he flops his opponent on the ground and pilfers him of his annoying magic items.

Two women come over and tend to the man. But it is clear that he has already perished. They take the body and walk away with it. Carly watches them walk away. 'Wow Elliott did you get angry?" Layla doesn't pay any attention to her and instead brings up a book to you. "Elliott look at this." She points to a picture on a page. "It's called a lyre of building, It will undoubtedly save us time and money on building the hall."

Elliott doesn't consider taking the items even though they're shiny and worth money. The last thing he needed was a reputation as a thief while trying to start a business.

"Little bugger was dancing around and not fighting. I may have gotten impatient, but I won, Carly. That's what matters right now." Elliott takes the book. "That's interesting, Layla. It's an instrument that just builds things? We could do all the work ourselves then. It's getting late, let's go see if we can find one and break off the builders contract. I'm sure we can find a way to make them forget all about it." Elliott visits the clerk to receive his daily reward and sets off to find a lyre of building.

Layla smiles as you walk up the clerk. "Of course that shouldn't be to hard." Once you arrive at the clerk to receive your payment he counts out 800 gold worth of coins and pus them into a small bag and hands the bag to you. He does the same for Carly, then Layla takes the lead going out of the arena she leads you down a street and around some corners before arriving at a instrument store. "It'll be getting late soon, better hurry before they close."
