Corvus take a moment to think clearly and tells Elliot, "Well I need to find some way to not get surrounded and lose my feet. Fighting from the ground is a terrible plan. Most of my stances and guards are for one person, while my strikes are for multiple. I need to be able to deal devastating blows while one on one, and defend myself when facing multiple opponents."

Layla and Zenthia appear back in the guildhall. Catherine arrived shortly before they do with a new staff on her back. "Welcome back Catherine, everything went well then?"
"Of course, sorry it took longer than expected. But I'm sure you faced no trouble."
"Of course." Layla responds with a straight face not hinting one way or another if their was any trouble or not. Catherine looks around for Elliott. "Hello again Elliott. Is there anyway I can repay you as well?"

Layla, Zenthia, and Catherine realize that the hall is occupied by however many mercs Elliott had recruited by now and they're all looking. Elliott, who is standing in front of his table on the raised platform, folds his shaking hands. His face is red, his nostrils flared, and he's breathing heavily. Layla reads that he is deeply enraged. He takes a deep breath to re-ground himself. He speaks with renewed calm. "Layla, Catherine, welcome back." Elliott turns from them back to his men. "As I said, some of you were taken under Corvus's wing the day you got here. Some of you completed your first maneuvers in a training session with Corvus, and all of you trained with him at least once. So train harder for him. It's okay to feel grief, anger, and fear. Just don't let those feelings get in the way of your training. If you need to cry, get it out of the way and push yourself harder. Iron Heart doesn't mean cold hearted. Don't let the loss of Corvus get between you and and the strongest most skilled warblade you can be. In life, you need strong fire to shape iron. Believe me, fire. Hurts. Unfortunately for the Black Dogs though, they chose to be our fire. They chose to kill our brother because he chose to become more than he was. Once we, The Undying, prove to Cormyr that we are stronger than them. Faster than them. Tougher than them. Once we, The Undying, snuff them out of Cormyr, those damned Black Dogs are going to pay for what they did to Corvus." Elliott draws a bastard sword, grabs a tankard, and raises them over his head. "HONOR HIM!" The men shout, "HA-OOH." All drink and clash steel with one another. Elliott and Carly clash sword against axe as they drink. "Eat well, boys. Tomorrow, we're training harder. From now on, squad leaders make sure everyone is sent on missions with a partner." Elliott sets his tankard down and takes his seat beside Carly. "Layla, Catherine, Milady, welcome back. That recruit you brought me last year went on his first mission a few days ago, and the Black Dogs sent his head back on his own sword. Probably caught him in an ambush. I apologize. Obviously I was in the middle of something, I'm sure you understand I didn't catch what you said to me. Did you need something?"
