Finrick watched Elliott descend the stairs and looked up to the floor above he spoke to himself quietly. "All right Finrick, you have to do some work here too. Your hands are sweaty and feet are tired. But you have trained for these moments. You are strong, you are smart, and Damn it people like you!" He begins to walk up the stairs with his rapier in hand ready to fight. As Elliott reaches the bottom of the stairs he senses two medium sized creatures on both sides of him, they slowly move closer making no audible sound as they move.

"Hey, stay close. We don't know what's in here. Finrick?"

If Finrick does follow him downstairs, Elliot whispers, "We're not alone," and takes his stances against the advancing creatures and prepares a strike of perfect clarity.

If Finrick doesn't follow him downstairs, Elliott hurries after him upstairs. He wasn't about to lose his charge after they'd already arrived. If there was one thing he was afraid of that wasn't the temple guardian, it was failure. The contract wasn't fulfilled until Finrick was safe back at the guild, and Elliott wasn't about to fail his first contract as an Undying Mercenary. He could let a few rookies tarnish his name, because it wasn't anything he couldn't fix with a quick arena fight. But if HE failed his contract and the Black Dogs found out... He'd need Layla's help wiping the minds of every person in Cormyr who knew. Would she? "FINRICK!" Elliott hurried up the stairs as fast as he could.
