Re: The Flight of Corvus
His eyes widen in mild fright at seeing the ease with which she wields the greataxe. Shaking it off, he nods and walks over to the stone and lifts. Strengh 18+3

you manage to lift the stone off of the ground but only are able to hold it for a few seconds before your arms give. Carly stands up and gives a slow clap. "Good job, now keep doing that for two hours then run five miles. That should be a good warmup then we'll start your training."
Re: The Flight of Corvus
His jaw drops, but quickly closes it realizing there's no way he's going to win and begins to struggle on with his tasks.

After about 10 minutes of lifting rocks, a stocky man in heavy armor with two large bastard swords on his back greets Carly.

(Apparently JT and I both expected the other to take you on your contract. Our bad.)
Nobody comes in to hire mercs that day. After lunch the next day, an old man and a younger man carrying a small parcel walk into the guild hall. Elliott yells from the wall where he's overseeing the men drilling, "Corvus! Those guys are yours."

Corvus excitedly drops what he's doing, almost getting smacked in the head by his partner. Stepping back and calling the match he heads over to Elliot and asks, "Um boss? How do I write up a contract?"

"The clerk will do it for you. You've just got to sign it, do what it says, and not drop the gold once you've earned it. Now get in there! Don't keep 'em waiting."

"Yes sir!" Corvus does a quick salute and runs off towards the clerk's office.

Re: The Flight of Corvus
You enter the hall, and the clerk at the armory window looks up from the drafted contract. "There's one now, sir. Hey, Merc! Has Elliott cleared you for taking contracts yet? If so, we've got an escort to Blustich. These gentlemen have family there, and the younger one's making a delivery. Payout will come to 1,000 gold by the time you complete it. If you want to take this one, sign here." He points to a line on the contract.

Re: The Flight of Corvus
Corvus strolls up to the clerk and says, "I'm your man." Turning to the clients, "Well you know the deal, my job is to get you safely from one target to another, I don't need to know what your purpose is, who you're meeting or even your name if you don't feel like sharing. But anything relavant to your safety I should know before we leave. I'm going to go grab my gear and meet you at the gate. That should give you time to decide what you do and don't want to tell me. Any questions?" Corvus signs the document from the clerk and after answering any questions the pair has would go to the quartermaster and pick up his gear/supplies.

Re: The Flight of Corvus
(The clerk is also the quartermaster.)
The older man gets uncomfortably close to you. "Your master's good, boy. But I've seen better. I may not have the money to hire the Black Dogs, but if my boy doesn't make it there in one piece, you bet your hiney they'll be at the gates of your little guild. And there's nothing Elliott the Undying will be able to do to stop them. You hear me?"
"Uh... Grandpa? Elliott's a master ranked gladiator. If this guy's been training under him-"
"He ain't been training long enough!"
"I'll. Be. Fine."
"You're right. Probably seen too many jobs gone wrong, that's all."
The old man counts out 1000 gold worth of coins and pays the clerk. Every time he spares you a glance, it's like he's measuring you and disapproving. He exits without further words. The kid (late teens) follows him out.
The clerk waits until the clients are out of sight before handing you your allotted mwk scaled mail, mwk bastard sword, and 400 gold of the contract money. "Don't die out there. That's breaking company policy." He chuckles as though he's vocalized the pinnacle of witty remarks.

Corvus just rolls his eyes and accepts the armor and weapon. "Is three anything I should know about Blustich? Any paths I should avoid or take? Or am I just following the kids lead, however stupid it may be?"

Re: The Flight of Corvus
The clerk put his hands on the table and speaks quietly. "I'd suggest taking the Dragoneye. It is kind of the most direct route. Marsember is about 2 days East from here, and Blustich is about 2 days East from there, so you're looking at about 8 days round trip for this one. If the client doesn't want to go that way, the client doesn't want to go that way. If the client goes too far out of the way, you can claim that the excessive detour wasn't in terms of the contract. Don't let him talk you into going to Hilp though. No telling what the Black Dogs would do to you on their territory. Go on now. You've got an escort to fulfill."

Re: The Flight of Corvus
"Thank you, I'll keep that in mind." Corvus grabs his gear, stops by his room to grab his padded armor as well, and meets his client at the gate. "Alright young sir, are you ready to go? We're going to stop in town long enough to buy some supplies and then we'll be on our way."

Re: The Flight of Corvus
When you get out there, the old man is gone and the kid is leaning against the wall next to the gate watching the men practice. "I'm good to go, but I'll stay here until you are prepared. I spend enough time in the markets, and I don't get to see men fight like this often."
(Everything in the market that's under trade goods or adventuring gear is standard market price and pretty non-negotiable. Round the silver up to the nearest multiple of 33.)
When you get back, the kid shoulders a backpack and sets off toward the East gate of Suzail. "Got everything? It's still kinda early, grandpa said we can make Marsember by tomorrow night if we set a good pace."

Re: The Flight of Corvus
(Honestly not sure what you mean with the multiple part.)
Corvus goes into town and purchases gear. He doesn't spend much time there although he would love to explore. He knows he has a job to do.
His gear is as follows: Backpack, Waterskin, Whetstone, Bedroll, Flint and Steel, Sewing needle, Torch x3, Trail Rations x10, Belt Pouch x2, and a dagger. Corvus traded his padded armor for most of the gear and spent 9 Gold on the remainder.
Upon arriving back and speaking with the boy, Corvus nods and says, "Lead the way".

Re: The Flight of Corvus
(Essentially your silver should always either be 0, 33, or 66. Costs are rounded up to the nearest multiple of 33. Say you want something that costs 20 silver on an SRD or in a rulebook, it will cost you 33 silver. Same goes for multiple items that add up to say 55 silver. The total cost would be 66 silver.)
He goes out the East entrance toward Marsember, and 2 days later you arrive. If you want to do something in Marsember, go ahead. 1 day later, you arrive in Moonever. The next day, you're walking along the road next to the Hermit's Woods and a javelin flies out of the woods at you.
Roll a spot check. If it fails, the javelin is against your flat footed AC and will hit. If it hits, make a fortitude save. Roll initiative while you're at it.
Javelin: +6 (18)
Damage: d6+4 (7)

You see something coming towards you out of the trees out fo your peripheral vision and dodge instinctively. The spear glances off your armor. A 5' 9" humanoid creature with dark green skin hobbles quickly toward you with a caveman like posture while dragging a rather big club behind him.

When it gets to you, it swings hard at your head. It hits your shoulder for 8 damage.
Swing: +7 (25)
Damage if hit: d10+6 (8 )
(I'll give you raw damage and let you take care of your DR. Also, any time you want to activate wall of blades, go ahead and roll on your turn.)
