(Sorry for taking so long on this; I've never been in the realm of death and dying like this before. "A stable character who has been tended by a healer or who has been magically healed eventually regains consciousness and recovers hit points naturally." - http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/injuryandDeath.htm . I think that means you regain consciousness at the DM's discretion after receiving the potion and will start gaining hitpoints from sleep and stuff. However, you can't take any actions except like labored speaking even though you're at negative hp. If I'm wrong, tell me.)

(This is minutes after Aeryn pours the cure minor wounds into your mouth.)

You wake up with your head in someone's lap. It's dark and you see that person's silhouette against the moon. You feel extremely comfortable temperature wise, and your mouth tastes a little like sugar and vanilla but also a little like campfire smoke and freshly melted ice. Your whole body is in pain, mostly your forearms, legs, and neck. When you open your eyes, the person hugs you. It hurts quite a bit to be moved like that. "Sweet Yondalla, you're alive. You need to quit doing that."

You survived! You gain 200 exp and don't get to be saved by a gold dragon.

A painful smile comes across Valors face. "Yeah, I agree. My quest of becoming a fighter wasn't supposed to have me bleeding more then my enemies." He tries to chuckle but it's too painful for his lungs so he just sits in silence waiting for the pain to die down.

Aeryn laughs weakly. "Things rarely go according to plan. Let's get you to the tent." Aeryn drags you to the tent. He cuts strips from the bag he used for food and binds your bite wounds reasonably well. After he's done, he throws the blanket over you, crawls under it, and goes to sleep.

Heal check: +1

You sleep through the night and heal 2 hp. When you wake up, the sun is up, and Aeryn is eating from your everlasting ration pouch.

When Valor wakes up he looks over at his friend eating breakfast. "Alright, at some point remind me to save your life, I'm tired of being the one about to die." He makes a smile to the point that it hurts his face and then lays back down.

Aeryn stands and walks over to you. You see he's limping badly on his left leg. His pant leg is rolled up with a nasty bite wound on his leg. "I'm tired of us getting hurt too. I don't know how adventurers do it. In stories the bards tell and the plays the Thespians put on, the adventurers never seem to have this much trouble." He gives you some dried apricots, a hand sized chunk of hardtack, and a few strips of dried light tan meat. "How do you feel, buddy?"

Valor sits up and slowly takes small bites out of the food. "Not super bad, really sore." He bends his neck back and gives a sigh. "The stories talk about people taking on dragons and demons to save kingdoms. We took out a couple wolves, good start right?" He makes a slight smile until it hurts and then he goes back to a straight face and continues eating.

Aeryn smiles. "They weren't even wolves. I looked after the sun came up. They were like up to here." He stands up and puts his hand about shoulder height. "Talk about humble beginnings."

Valor lets out a sarcastic chuckle. "Yeah, the deities are really having mercy on us. Oh well it can only get better from here right?" He leans up more trying to avoid the pain and continues eating his food.

"It can always get worse, Valor. We could lose your magic food bag, we could get attacked again, it could start raining. So many things can go wrong that haven't already." You start to hear the sound of hooves, wagon wheels, and men yelling approaching from the Southwest.

Valor grinds his teeth together and squints his eyes in pain as he stands up. "Well better or worse something is about to happen, lets find out what." He walks outside to see what's going on.

As you try to stand, Aeryn pushes you back down. "Stay here and eat. I'll go check it out. Maybe we can get a ride to Dhedluk with them."

Valor tries his best to stand but can't muster the strength to do so. Instead he just listens to Aeryn and lays back down taking some more bites out of his food. But he feel uncomfortable, and helpless letting his friend go out without protection. But it hurt to much to move so he didn't have a choice. He just lied still and stared at the opening in the tent waiting for Aeryn to return.

Aeryn comes running back in. "Okay, I got us a ride. It's an ingot caravan headed to Dhedluk for the army. I gave the guy 2 gold, and he said we could ride with him. I told him about you being injured, and he's sending some guys ahead of the caravan to get you." He throws the blanket into his backpack and helps you outside the tent. Once you're outside, two humans come walking down the path. They load you onto a cart full of iron ingots as Aeryn takes down the tent and folds it.

Valor thanks the men that put him into the cart. Then lays still waiting for Aeryn to join him. He was still uncomfortable being with people when he was unable to defend himself. But he was out of options and still had Aeryn with him at least.
